What Is Bloom — The Self Care App for Women and Moms
The plain-English explanation: what Bloom does, how it works, who it’s for, and how much it costs.
Bloom is a coordination app for women who want to do self-care experiences with their closest friends, regularly — without one person having to organise everything every single time.
This is the plain explanation: what Bloom does, how it works, who it’s for, and how much it costs.
The Problem Bloom Solves
You and your closest friends have been “going to do something soon” for the last six months. The intention is there. The love is there. What’s missing is the structure.
Group chats are great for messaging and terrible for planning. Doodle polls solve a slice of the problem. Calendar apps solve a different slice. Nothing on the market is built specifically for the shape of a recurring friend-group meet-up — voting on what to do, finding a date, rotating who organises, sending the reminders, and storing the memories afterwards.
The result: good intentions don’t turn into real experiences. One friend ends up doing all the admin and gets quietly tired. Plans die in the gap between “sounds amazing” and “okay so when actually?”.
How Bloom Works — Step by Step
1. Create a circle. One person sets it up — the “creator” — gives it a name and invites 3 to 6 friends by email.
2. Everyone votes on the experience. Bloom suggests 15 self-care experiences (Glow Night, Spa Day, Wine and Paint, Slow Morning, and so on). Each member swipes through the deck and picks the ones they’re into. The experience with the most votes wins the cycle.
3. Bloom finds the date. Everyone marks the dates they’re free in the next few weeks. Bloom looks at the overlap and picks the date that works for the most people. (Not everyone — that date never exists. The most people — that date almost always does.)
4. The organiser role rotates. One member is automatically assigned as organiser for that cycle. They book the venue, post the details, mark it confirmed. Next cycle, it’s someone else’s turn. Bloom tracks the rotation so it’s always fair.
5. Reminders go out automatically. A week before. The day before. The morning of. Nobody has to remember to send them.
6. Everyone shows up. No more group-chat negotiation. No more “wait, what was the time?”. The plan is locked in, everyone’s been reminded, the experience happens.
7. After the meet-up, memories get saved. Photos, ratings, a note from the day. Builds up into a Memory Wall the circle can scroll through over time.
Then the cycle starts again.
What Makes Bloom Different
It’s not a group chat. WhatsApp is brilliant for messaging and doesn’t pretend to be a planning system.
It’s not a calendar app. Google Calendar is built for one-on-one meetings, not fluid friend-group plans.
It’s not Doodle. Doodle solves date-finding only, and the rest of the planning still happens in a chaotic group chat.
Bloom is the only app built specifically for the recurring self-care circle — the small group of women who want to keep showing up for each other on a rhythm, year after year, without burning anyone out.
The Memory Wall, the rotating organiser, the automatic date finder, the cycle-by-cycle structure — none of those exist anywhere else as one product.
Who Bloom Is For
Mums whose group chats are full of love and short on action. Women in their thirties and forties who want intentional friendships and have run out of energy to organise them by hand. Friend circles that have been “going to do something soon” for too long. Anyone whose self-care has quietly drifted to the bottom of the list.
Bloom isn’t for one-off events. It’s for the small group of women who want to do this regularly, for years.
How Much Does Bloom Cost
$50 per year for the person who creates the circle. That’s the whole price. Members always join completely free, forever — even if there are five of them, even if the circle runs for ten years.
Most circles split the cost between the creator and her friends informally if they want to — that’s about a tenner each per year. Less than a coffee a month.
How to Get Started
It takes about five minutes to create a circle and invite your friends. They get an email, click a link, set up an account in under a minute, and you’re running.
Ready to make it actually happen?
Bloom handles the vote, finds the date that works for the most people, rotates who organises, and sends the reminders. You just show up.
